The event will be run under MNZ General Road Racing Rules and these Supplementary Regulations.
All classes will conform to MNZ rules except for Classic pre 63 class, which will be run under CAMS rules, copy included, and BEARS Milwaukee Iron, which will conform to BEARS rules, copy included.
Acceptance of entry will be posted to you, included with this will be times for signing in and scrutineering and all other relevant information needed for this event.
All competitors must provide a valid MNZ licence, Club membership card and civil drivers licence at sign in. Failure to produce any of these three items will result in exclusion from the meeting. Proof of having entered three previous events is required to participate in a street race.
Machines presented for examination must be presented in a clean and tidy condition. Refer MNZ rule book. Tethered Kill switches must be fitted for the Street Race.
The organisers reserve the right to manage the classes and race order as may be required due to entries received.
In the event that competitors are entering more than one machine in different classes, they should endeavor to have helpers ensuring their second machine is ready on the dummy grid for them in the event that one race follows another.
It is envisaged to run the following races: Formula 1; Formula 2; Formula 3; Super Motard; BEARS Milwaukee Iron; Girder Forks Classics; Pre 63 Classics; 250 class pre 72, and pre 82; 350 Class pre 72; 351-open class pre 72, and pre 82, and pre 89.
These races will be dependent upon numbers, and NO CROSS ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED. Extended street closure times means three races per class.
The winner of all classes will receive magnificent keepsake trophies and sashes for the first three placegetters in each class.
Presentation of trophies and sashes will be held at the Three Rivers Tavern at the conclusion of racing.
CAMS Eligibility Rules for CAMS Classes
Classic Road Racing Machines
1.1 Introduction
Classic racing machines shall consist of machines manufactured in any country other than Japan before 31st December 1962. Note: These rules are intended to ensure a high standard of presentation. CAMS reserves the right to reject any machine which does not meet standards in keeping with the spirit of Classic Action Motorcycle Sports Club.
1.2 Classic Racing Machines
1.2.1 Eligible are motorcycles built for road use or road racing prior to 31 December 1962. C.A.M.S. have the entitlement to group machines into various classes according to age, capacity and type according to entries received. 1.2.2 Major components will determine age. Major components are frame, engine, gearbox & clutch. 1.2.3 All wheels must be of the wire-spoked type with rim widths the same as specified for the original manufactured machine. Maximum rim width is WM 3 (2.15 inches inside width). 1.2.4 Tyres must be of the type manufactured with tread. Slick tyres or hand cut slicks tyres are not permitted. 1.2.5 No disc brakes will be accepted. Drum brakes of any manufacture or configuration up to a maximum internal drum diameter of 230mm (9") are permitted. 1.2.6 The age of the motorcycle is determined by the year of manufacture of the most recently manufactured major component. 1.2.7 Replica major components may be used provided they are faithful copies as to design and specification of acceptable original components and are not designed to gain a performance advantage over original components. 1.2.8 Motorcycles (specials) may be built up for CAMS Classic Racing by using components which may be interchanged between the various makes and models but remain visually compatible with the period being depicted. 1.2.9 Engine and gearbox: May be used from any production or road racing motorcycles manufactured in any Country other than Japan before the 31 December 1962. Engine and gearbox may be modified internally and/or fitted with components of modem manufacture. All external covers and cases must be as per original casting with no visual modification. Gearbox: Maximum of five speeds unless standard fitting into a production or road racing motorcycle prior to 31st December 1962. 1.2.10 Carburettor: Choice of make and model is free providing that it is a cylindrical slide model, albeit of later manufacture. No fuel injection. No supercharging.1.2.11 Ignition: May be magneto or battery/coil. Electronic Ignition system, if used, must be concealed from view. 1.2.12 Frame: New frames accepted provided they are built in the style of Pre 31st December 1962 and do not use square or alloy tubing. Swinging arms are not permitted in steel box section or aluminium alloys. Rear suspension must have twin upright suspension units. (no remote reservoir units permitted). Cheney, Lyster, (Rickman) Mettise, Seeley and Tickle frames are accepted within this period. 1.2.13 Primary Drive: Chain or tooth belt drive permitted. Belt drives must be totally enclosed. 1.2.14 Mudguards: Adequate front and rear guards or seat/guard combination to be fitted securely. 1.2.15 Silencing: The minimum requirement for silencing shall be as follows: Any megaphone exhaust system used must have a reverse cone with an outlet diameter not greater than 150% than that of the parallel part of the exhaust pipe. Any straight pipe must have a slot 3mm wide and 150mm long cut parallel with the pipe and ending 25mm from the end of the exhaust pipe. Any expansion chamber exhaust system fitted to 2-stroke machines must have a canister type silencer fitted to the tail pipe of the exhaust system. The minimum dimensions shall be 150 mm length and 50 mm outside diameter. Pre-war 2-stroke machines may use other types of silencer provided that the same are effective in reducing noise. All silencing must conform to MNZ Rules as well as various track hire requirements as stated from time to time. 1.2.16 The onus is on the rider of a machine to present the machine in accordance with the above rules and MNZ General Competition Rules. CAMS may refuse to complete scrutineering of a machine which in their opinion is not in accordance with the above rules.
